Caribbean Fashion Designer of the Week Oct 27  - Nov 3, 2014

Juliette Dyke

Juliette Andrea Dyke is a talented fashion designer from Jamaica. She is a fashion design graduate from the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, where she studied Fashion Design from 2006 to 2008. During the college's Annual Alternative Fashion Show, she got discovered and that is when she decided to launch her ‘Julan’ brand in December 2008.

Oasap Limited

Juliette creates beautiful and elegant women designs and she is able to do that by using bold colors, mixing contrasting and unconventional fabrics, and incorporating dramatic accents. She gets inspiration from practically anything, from different historical periods to a vast variety of cultures, and also combination of fashions trends from past eras and future predictions. Her latest Julan collection, she showcased during Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 in Jamaica. For this collection she got inspiration from the not-so-ubiquitous deck of cards to add whimsy to her geometrically clean designs.  Her collection which is sophisticated, innovative, wearable and very feminine was well received during Caribbean Fashion Week 2014 and we enjoyed every minute of her show.

Juliette made her impressive debut at Caribbean Fashion Week in 2009 and since then she has been showing her collection at this annual fashion event. Before this debut, she was also chosen to enter her designs in a fashion show in Brussels, Belgium in April 2009 where she presented an amazing collection. Furthermore, her collections were featured in Miami International Fashion Week 2011, in London's Fashion Week in February 2012,  and Bermuda Fashion Collective Show in November 2013. Her designs have also been featured in several publications both home and abroad.

Here are some of our favourite designs created by 'Juliette Dyke' :
